The Best Time of Year to Visit Taiwan...

Taiwan is a very beautiful place but for tourists there are many suggestions as to when they should plan their trip to Taiwan. Of course for this even there are many opinions as to when should one plan for their trip to Taiwan.

Many suggest that visiting this part of the world during the major public holidays such as the Chinese New Year, etc is not advisable. It is usually said that one should visit Taiwan during the months October to January. This is the best time to visit Taiwan. It is even because during this period, the climatic conditions are the best. Visiting Taiwan during the summer season, that is in between June and August is not a wise thought because humidity as well as heat is really unbearable.

If one is planning to visit Taiwan during the holiday season, then one should plan for accommodation even in advance as it gets fully occupied mostly. During the holidays, there are many more things which one has to look for such as the restaurants and shops close down, the transport system is not then convenient because it is overcrowded. As for specific holidays, Chinese New Year should be avoided which is usually in late February, during this time of the year, the transport system is in a mess as it is more than overcrowded, restaurants and shops are closed for the majority and hotels hike up their prices. To some extent even the month of October should be avoided because it is full of holidays.

During the months of May to September, this part of the world experiences a climate which is sub tropical and the summer’s heat is less effective. Although the humidity still persists. The mildest time of the country is during December to February as winter commences during this time.

Another thing to note is that during the summer season, the flight fares are on a high which makes it more inconvenient for the visitors. October is generally a pleasant month to be here but the number of holidays during this month can really buzz off any one. Month wise, November is the ideal month to visit Taiwan.

Late August is a time in this country when not many Chinese travellers are seen on the roads as the temples are active during this time and it is known that this month is called the Ghost Month.

On one hand, one can say that during holidays, visiting Taiwan is a headache, but during the festivals, one can enjoy themselves to the maximum level. People here go by the Chinese Lunar Calendar. Here in Taiwan, Taipei Lantern Festival is a festival which is considered to be the most romantic festival of all. Additionally, the spring season here in Taiwan is even worth vouching for. The mountainous areas here usually get really cool as there are changes in elevation.

One might say that the summer temperatures have dropped which is quite true but still the humidity and the hot weather is highly unbearable. In south Taiwan, winter is pleasant and one can enjoy it completely, but in the north, it would not be as pleasant as it is in the south. This is because in the north during winters, it rains heavily and at the same time the cold atmosphere is extreme.

The winters here in Taiwan are usually moderate in the night time with the limiting up to 8°C. Talking about the summers, anything above 30°C can be expected all during the season. Spring season here is the most pleasant of all but still it’s odd that rains pour in here in spring more than what pours in autumn. As Taiwan’s east coast faces the Pacific Ocean, the east coast has to bear with the damages during the typhoon season. The mountainous regions always encounter conditions which are temperate. In fact, it is known that the highest mountains in Taiwan are snow filled every year at a specific point of the year.

One would surely want to make a note of the different festivals people celebrate in Taiwan. Some of the popular festivals are the Chinese New Year, Ching Ming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Hungry Ghost Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, etc. It can be easily noticed that the most celebrated festivals here are linked to that of the Chinese. This is because Taiwan is basically dominated by the Chinese. But of course as said earlier, visiting Taiwan during these special events can be a real headache but at the same time one can enjoy being here to the maximum.

One of the weirdest things about Taiwan is that the weather here is as varied as is its landscapes. But on a general note, they are basically sub-tropical. Autumn again is a very nice time to be here in Taiwan as its fresh air flow all the way with flowers blooming everywhere and it is travel at its best comfort zone.

For the ladies, it’s a go any time as the ladies usually love shopping and one can surely find varied shopping markets which are mostly on a wholesale basis. That is not all; one can then visit the 101 tower which are located near the shopping areas. For readers, there are many bookshops which are open 24 hours.

Well, March is even a nice month to be in Taiwan. Although one will still find it crowded, the saruka blooming would keep one completely interested.
