Taipei
is often lauded
for its profusion of wireless internet service. Yet, sometimes it's
quite difficult to find. Obviously, places like Dante and Starbucks have
paying Wifi service, but that's not what I'm talking about. There are
numerous cafés and bars that offer free wireless access in and around
Taipei, but if you don't know where they are, then you're kind of up a
creek.
When I lived in Paris, I had the same problem. Not wanting to write in my
apartment, I searched numerous sites and found tons of conflicting
information about where to go for the access.*
Today, I found a new program that's great for people searching for wifi
access, it's called Wefi, and it's free. I hope people will spread this
around, download the program and start loading some wifi sites onto the maps
here in Taipei and around Taiwan.

almost laughable extent. Anyone who's ever studied in a French public
university can vouch for that
